Synopsis

In the aftermath of a bloody confrontation between the Innu tribe the Moon Wolves, and the Men from the Land of Ice, or the Inuit, MAÏNA, daughter of Grand Chief Mishtenapuu, finds herself on a mission that will change the course of her life and her peoples history. In order to fulfill a promise made to her friend Matsii as she lay on her deathbed, MAÏNA has to follow the trail of her enemies to retrieve Nipki, Matsiis 11-year-old son who has been captured by the Inuit. She is then taken captive herself by Natak, the clan’s leader, and forced to travel with them to the Land of Ice. Introduced as enemies, the two grow fond of each other and struggle to forge a relationship against the odds of different culture, customs and conspiracy in a world where the fight for survival is a daily challenge.
